Terms of Service

Welcome to Tars ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our services, including all products, websites, and applications (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who Can Use the Service

• You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into contracts to use Tars.
• By using the Service, you confirm you are either acting on behalf of a business or organization or as an individual user and have the authority to bind your organization (if applicable) to these Terms.
• Tars reserves the right to verify your eligibility to use the Service and may request proof of age, identity, or organizational authority as necessary.

2. Service Fees

• Tars is free to use with no monthly subscription fees.
• For payment processing through our platform, we charge a 0.15% fee on the transaction value, in addition to Stripe's standard processing fees.
• All fees are automatically deducted from the transaction amount at the time of processing.
• Refunds of transaction fees are not offered, except in cases of billing errors.

3. Getting Started

• You can start using Tars immediately after creating an account.
• All features of the Service are available to all users at no monthly cost.
• Payment processing features require connecting a Stripe account to enable transactions.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for illegal activities or to violate any applicable laws.
• Share login credentials or allow unauthorized access to your account.
• Exploit or misuse the Service in ways that could disrupt its operation or harm other users (e.g., spamming, hacking, scraping data).

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines.

5. Third-Party Services

• Tars uses Stripe Connect to process payments. When you use the Commerce features (e.g., Invoices, Payments), you will connect directly to Stripe, creating a direct relationship between you and Stripe. Stripe's terms and policies apply to these transactions. Our 0.15% service fee is charged in addition to Stripe's standard fees.
• Tars is not responsible for third-party services or their terms. Other third-party tools and services may also be used to enhance the functionality of the Service.

6. Limitation of Liability

• Tars is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the Service, except where prohibited by law.
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the six months preceding the claim.
• This limitation of liability does not affect rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

7. Changes to the Terms

• We may update these Terms occasionally. Any changes will be communicated via email or website notification at least 30 days in advance.
• By continuing to use the Service after changes are made, you accept the updated Terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada.
